Fireball

İstanbul/Bilgi University 2017

A fireball is a lantern composed of two layers. The sense of depth created by merging these layers is further enhanced by deformations between these layers.

The fireball, made of metal and aluminum materials, is bridged with bright metal materials for reflecting light and mesh material that can transmit light.

The core part surrounding the light had to transmit light, so gaps were left in the junction areas both to control the metal and to increase the light transmittance of the material. Holes were made in the parts where the metal would fold, allowing us to control the metal and enabling the passage of light.

The fireball will be a design displayed in an outdoor environment. When choosing materials, we specifically opted for a metal that could rust, thus enhancing its appearance as a celestial object over time.
